"THE ETYMOLOGIST RISES"
The term "comic book" is an etymologically confusing one, as they (the comics) are most often not humorous, nor are they in the traditional sense books.
This issue plays with meaning and form, hinting at what is to come and perhaps even showing us how the book will end, all the while making fascinating hash of words and pictures. It's a fine comic reading experience. Read Full Review
Final ThoughtsI enjoyed Ice Cream Man #28, and Ive been enjoying this book issue after issue. It reminds me of a more sophisticated EC horror comic, with all the chills and bloody horror of one of those pre-code comics mixed with some complex ideas and a great atmosphere. It's engaging to see this series apply its tropes and tone to a less-familiar storytelling mode, and it pays dividends in an outing that is entirely satisfying on its own while casting a shadow towards the series' long-game and possible conclusion. Read Full Review

This issue is good, but not great. I think this series is better off avoiding any sort of serialization, but that's a different issue. This comic is just not as good as the last few, but still plenty good in and of itself.
It was a pretty good issue. I dislike that it brings up that overall narrative from earlier issues but, the main idea of the story was alright. It's definitely not the worst one.
