Ice Cream Man #36 is another magnificent issue, a bittersweet dark fantasy tale that will stay with you long after youve finished reading it. Highly recommended. Read Full Review
While this fish story operates on two levels, the one most will be drawn toward focuses on a father grieving for his daughter and what could have been. It's a tale that – for better or worse – most of us can relate to. Read Full Review
The humor surrounding an appearance by a wooden puppet consistently land and depictions of various stages throughout the whale provide Morazzo with abundant material for sight gags, making Ice Cream Man #36 one of the most amusing versions of this sad story imaginable. Read Full Review
Like a variety of Price's stories, this hits different if you are a parent. A simple story and not really a horror in the normal sense of the word. The dark humour once you get to the whale par is pretty great, but I think the best part is the intense frustration the father feels with the way things go. Its a type of terror/anguish that I cannot quite put my finger on.
All in all, this comes down to another tale that drives home the important point: Spend time with your kids. You never know how things will go with them and ignoring something as simple as a request for a hug can come back and haunt you. If you have kids the last few pages hit harder.
It's not as flashy as some of the issues of this series, but it tells a tale you van get as deep as you want to with.
