Most fun visually in the issue, though, is Angulos colors and its a result of subtraction rather than addition. ROGUE SUN has been a series of vibrant colors since the first page. Its bright when nothing is happening, and its even brighter when Dylan and company are throwing powers around. Angulo keeps that trend going in this issue. So, midway through the issue when Dylans interactions with Ornate take place in front of a completely gray background, we feel the importance of the moment because Rogue Sun and Ornate jump off the page. Straight up genius issue and genius usage of the medium. This series isn't talked about enough. Rarely do you read a comic like this.
Splendid! This was a really immersive issue.
In my opinion, I must disagree with other reviews that see this issue as filler.
First, we see the "daily life" of Rogue Sun after the events of the previous issues.
Second, Rogue Sun learned a lot, so this is definitely a character progress and he is involving.
And third, while the story might not directly progress, this is a remarkable "solo story".
And all this with the brilliant, smooth and colorful illustrations as in the previous issues.
If I would need to sum up "Rogue Sun" in two words: "Epic style!"
A really fun gimmick where it's like Groundhog Day and Choose your adventure. Read this when you have time
