As the opening of a story about a group of people gaining mystical powers, Starsigns #1 is strong and interesting. Rana is a particularly likable young woman and I think her story will be entertaining. Read Full Review

On the surface, it's easy to dismiss Starsigns as a run-of-the-mill superhero comic. However, once you get into the meat of the story there is a really grounded, and timely feeling and tone that reminds me of how I use to feel when I would read Generation X in the 90s. The series is light and entertaining but also feels like it's really relevant in the current global conversation. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez May 1, 2023

Starsigns #1 does everything you want from the first issue of a new comic book. The foundation around this new world of superpowers is easily understood without need for much explanation. The series lead in Rana Fawaaz has narrative that is presented in way you get invested in her story right away. That investment leaves you wondering how the change in the world will impact her and those around her. Read Full Review

Decent enough story. It's been done many times before with different pantheons, emotions, sins ect. Still, the main character is likable enough and we don't know the reasons behind everything so it will take a few more issues to tell if this is worth your money or not. This issue is of course all set up. Overall it's fine.

Disappointing effort on what could have been an innovative premise based on regular people being infused with the energy of their astrological sign after the constellation disappears. It turned into what felt like a cheezy 90s cartoon with mind numbing dialogue and a corny cliffhanger. Is there a Captain Planet backstory? I suppose if you wanted to keep reading you could find out what each of the star sign powers do to normal people. I took it upon myself to do that for you so you could save $20 or so.
