End of Story Arc! Season finale! A close bond begins to bloom between mermaid and Torque. A bond that will be tested by an entire lair of cannibal cyborg mutants who stand between them and only supply of water for miles. Moreover, major revelations about mermaid's past abound, including-at last-her name.
On top of it all, there are some beautiful landscapes that are drawn to the page. Kim does some very pretty work with light and shadow that bring a strong sense of atmosphere to the page. Its not often that shadow is treated with such reverence on the page. The visual reality of The Last Mermaid is just as much about the unseen as it is about whats actually apparent there in the desert. Its breathtaking stuff in places. The story is taking its time as it slowly reaches its destination. Theres no telling what theyll find when they get where theyre going. Exciting stuff. Read Full Review

I'm so annoyed at Image comics at this ending that I may never buy an Image book again farless read one. This was made very clear that it was an ongoing series and now after only 6 issues the writer Derek says he's so behind on pages that it's going on hiatus until sometime next year....Sorry no spoiler alert but the ending was about as exiting as toothache. In all my years reading , collecting and reviewing comments I have never come across such a lazy ending in my life. If this trash comes back please someone at Image make sure he actually can supply a monthly comic.......JM
