The issue isn't perfect " there are pieces of story and character that some readers may wish had gotten a bit more time " but overall it is an elegant, beautiful finale that will give fans a lot to love, both in the first reading and in what is sure to be many re-readings to come. The final pages reveal possible futures for some of the characters and there's a lot of hope there. While I'm sad to see Wayward end, this finale is pitch perfect. This is truly an epic comic in more ways than one. Read Full Review

Man, I really wish this comic would never end. I mean, the art is amazing, the story is fresh an unlike anything in the comics world, and don't get me started on the awesome back story from Zack. I'm a bit mad at Jim to end this at 30 issues... The folklore and culture of Japan is too big, you could have made 100 more. But I get it, nothing is great because it last. It was a great ride and I'm hoping there's a sequel. Maybe in Japan with this characters or other news, or maybe in a new country with their own culture and myths (Africa would be freaking amazing). To sum up, thank you Jim and your crew, Wayward will be forever in my heart!

I was only slightly underwhelmed by this ending. Not necessarily because of the way it ended, but more because of the writing. I thought this was a really cool story with tons of fantastic ideas, and combining Japanese and Irish mythology and folklore was really, really neat. The art was awesome throughout too. I just thought the writing could've been a bit sharper. The story could've been pieced together better. Certain concepts and events could've been explained in a more coherent way. The dialogue could've been a little less cheesy at times. The characters could've been a bit more developed. That's not to say it wasn't readable, cause it very much was, and I really did enjoy it. But the writing was definitely the one thing that kept this more
