    Witchblade #1 may not be the most impressive entry in this phenomenal series, but if not for it's awesomeness we'd never have this beloved character today. Add to this an enticing narrative and stunning artwork, and it's virtually impossible not to fall in love with this character. So I urge potential fans to go try this (it's only 99 on Comixology), and if you're a current/former fan, why not re-read for nostalgia, as what better way is there to celebrate her 20th Anniversary?     Good solid entry. You get the motivation, some character work and some solid action. Now that being said, we have a reboot in 2024, and how does that match up?

    Well pros for the original: The background of the villain seems more built up and intense. He feels more powerful and like a shadow over everything. His obsession is clear and palpable.

    The art is art by Michael Turner... so instant win. You can really match the legend so it is kind of unfair match here.

    Pros for the reboot. The action scene when Sara gets her witchblade is way more intense and explosive. The scene is amazing. I wish Turner had drawn that and that would have been an amazing combination. The action is just better detailed in the rebo more
