This first issue brings a lot to the table and really catches the reader with its mystery and suspense. Tyler Boss brings the Giallo sub-genre of horror to the comic book pages to great effect. The intrigue of what is actually going on brings the reader in like a moth to a flame. Connecting minor dots without revealing the full and true story works in the books benefit and makes you want more. Read Full Review

Tyler Boss showcases his ability to craft a storytelling beyond illustration with a brilliantly told narrative, while Adriano Turtulici takes the series to a new level with stunning visuals. I will admit, this book would normally have been outside of my wheelhouse. The horror/thriller genre isn't my typical go-to, but there are always exceptions to the rule. In the case of You'll Do Bad Things, the miniseries offers a lot in the opening chapter that caught my attention, and that hook continued to pay off in the second issue (which Image kindly shared as well). I think it is always wise to try and step outside of your comfort zone every once in a while, and I can say that I'm glad I did so with this book. 'You'll Do Bad Things' #1 is a great start to what will hopefully prove to be satisfyingly spooky miniseries. Some delectable art makes it stand out from the crowd, and it's backed by a unique, blood-soaked spin on a fun premise. It sets a fun, reality-bending tone that promises more thrills down the line. The big challenge moving forward is going to lie in making certain that the story remains fresh as it progresses forward beyond the initial introductions. The basic premise for the series hasnt really hit as of the first issue, but it IS present in the promotional info on the mini-series on the Image Comics website and its not...its not terribly original as a premise, so its kind of an awkward situation. Its a promising opening, but the idea of a murder writer being the inspiration for actual murders is...a bit of a tired premise. Heres hoping Boss does something interesting with it. Read Full Review
The art was great. The premise isn't super original, but it did its job well enough to get me to come back.
