Aug 27, 2026Denver #1 is a fine enough read, but as a first issue it doesn’t do much to take familiar dystopian elements and make them its own. Character introductions and world building carry the narrative rather than a compelling plot. The issue struggles visually, but it’s not a deal breaker. Really enjoyed this. In Denver, It’s adult, it’s erotic, it’s violent, and it hums with the pulse of something alive and dangerous. A welcome rupture in the endless parade of capes and clichés. I’ll be back for more. ...and holy crap, that cliff hanger. What a tease.
