    There has been many times where I have not found Jimenez work suitable for Spider-man. Hes work feels better in epic stories with iconic characters. Spider-man is iconic, but not larger a god-like figure. Yet, Jimenez added enough grittiness to make this story entertaining visually and selling me on the idea that he could be a great Spider-man artist, if given the right story.     A qualified winner for Amazing Spider-Man, at the end of the day. With the new direction's first litmus test, the "event" arc "New Ways To Die," just around the corner, it seems like Marvel is making a conscious effort to step the book's game up. Read Full Review

    If it sounds like I'm trying to keep thinking of reasons to justify purchasing the book, then maybe I am. Amazing Spider-Man is the first title that I started collecting when I got back into comics, and it's the only book that I've followed on a consistent basis for that long, so it's going to be pretty hard to break the habit.     I love Phil Jimenez's body of work, but to say he draws a better Vermin than Mike Zeck is blasphemy. What started off as a fun storyline sadly concludes as a yawn fest. Talk about dropping the ball. Read Full Review
