Amazing Spider-Man: Spider-Versity #2 continues to make strong use of Marvel’s sprawling Spider-cast by balancing school drama, superhero action, and the lingering unease surrounding Norman Osborn. Morris and Kelly keep the pacing sharp while giving nearly every character a moment to shine, and the rotating art team maintains an energetic visual flow throughout. While some character moments move by a little too quickly, the escalating danger and strong group chemistry continue to make this one of Marvel’s more entertaining ensemble books. Read Full Review

Joe Kelly & Jordan Morris continue the solid start with another issue that builds on a very compelling story started in the first issue. Together with artwork that is simply stellar, this is an issue that Spider-Man fans will not want to pass up on. Read Full Review

The Amazing Spider-Man: Spider-Versity #2 is a fun all-ages affair that misses the chance to dig into something deeper by continuing to mischaracterize long-standing heroes like Miles & Cindy for the sake of making the book's 'schoolhouse' feel tonally consistent. Read Full Review

Okay so this is immediately less fun than the first issue. It struggles with a plot that delivers the same story twice, spider-kids might be overwhelmed but, hey, they aren’t.

It was quite moving to see Cindy enjoying dormitory living after her years of isolation. The rest of it was very sub YA, a consequence of aging certain characters downwards. The Spider-Man cameo was kind of shoe-horned in and pointless and Jess’s role was just ridiculous, literally making the same threat to Norman again and again, and aside from that one drink related gag which wasn’t too bad she was not well served. I also think it’s a shame that there seems to have been no acknowledgement of the history she shared with Spider-Boy.
