Scratch what I said in the introductory paragraph, not only is this the best Avengers comic book, this is probably one of the top three ongoing series I read monthly, and anybody who frequents this blog with any regularity knows that I read A LOT of comic books monthly! I tip my proverbial hat to Christos Gage, Tom Raney, Scott Hanna and the rest of the creative team behind this series, because they deserve it. Seriously, this was a great issue from a great series. I don't often say this, but I'd STRONGLY recommend this series to ANY comic book fan. And as I said, I hardly ever come right out and recommend something here on the blog. But I am openly recommending people to check this series out. There's nothing more for me to do here expect give this comic it's well deserved perfect score and move to the next review. In truth, the way this issue ends is legitimately shocking and can lead to a real upset in the status quo of the title. Gage has made me care about a group of unproven characters precisely because they're unproven, because their potential has been untapped, and he uses the crossover to its fullest potential. None of the kids will be the same after this storyline is over, and every single change feels sincere and natural. We've also got Tom Raney here doing some incredible artwork, full of action and crazy scenery. This issue is almost flawless. Read Full Review
It's good to know this series still has a healthy future ahead of it. But if it were to end, this arc would have been a fitting place to do so. Gage has effectively brought these characters full circle, and I look forward to what he has in store as the next phase begins. Read Full Review
Everything since issue 1 seems like it’s led up to Avengers Academy 19. The way Mettle and Hazmat decided to sacrifice their lives for Striker, Veil, and Reptil had me close to tears, and Gage takes a huge risk when Veil quits the team
