Spencer and Checchetto are a killer creative combo that knock Avengers World #12 out of the park. This title is right up there with Hickman's titles for top Avengers books each month when Checchetto or Caselli are involved and Spencer's skill at maintaining strong stories with this huge scope is amazing. If broad scope team books are your jam, Avengers World is made for you. I can't wait for the next installment. Read Full Review
If you are reading along and know the playing ground than Avengers World #12 is a fun, action-packed issue. That being said, it presupposes a knowledge of the Marvel universe beyond the New York cast of heroes and is not to most accessible story to new readers. Read Full Review
For whatever weight and meaning Nick Spencer attempts to put into the narrative laid over the breadth of this issue, and I admit, he did manage to get some in there, its hard to call this one anything but filler, with the origin vignettes seeming to be there as much to take up space and stall for time as to illuminate the pasts of the characters involved. It doesnt give me a whole lot of hope for how the Ascendant are going to be treated when they take the spotlight next issue. Read Full Review
Marco Checchetto is a godsend. Switching between this art and the other issue's art is rough. But I actually enjoyed this one, even if it's more about Euroforce than Avengers.
Not terrible. Like an issue #1 of Euroforce, though
Avengers World was supposed to be an Avengers backup comic that focused on Avengers that didn’t get a lot of panel time in Hickman’s Avengers series. Spencer focuses the series on every Avenger on the roster and divulges into 4 different storylines. The storylines have quickly gotten over the top and the art took a sharp decline after Stefano Caselli left the title. Spencer has recently been introducing us to Chinese and European heroes that are bland and uninteresting and will probably will never be used or seen again.
