    AIPT - David Brooke Sep 24, 2025

Battleworld #1is a great start and worthy of the long lineage of heroes fighting heroes at Marvel Comics, setting up a multiversal melee that adds new wrinkles to the tradition. Battleworld #1 doesn't just revisit Marvel's tradition of heroes clashing, but reinvents it by throwing Hank Pym into a volatile patchwork world of timelines and legends. Christos Gage's sharp scripting makes every character instantly engaging, while Marcus To and Rachelle Rosenberg deliver some of the year's most vibrant superhero spectacle. With its ambitious scope, character clarity, and jaw-dropping visuals, this debut sets the stage for a multiversal showdown that feels like it could be the next great Marvel brawl. Read Full Review

    Graphic Policy - Brett Sep 24, 2025

Battleworld #1 is interesting. It has some pretty high stakes, the potential destruction of entire timelines, but doesn't have too many characters taking part. There's also key stories and timelines not represented. It feels like a grand event story scaled down to a small cast, making it a bit of an odd one. And, when we've seen this type of story in the past, it's been a pretty big deal as either part of a major storyline or the storyline itself. It feels like it was meant for something else but that fell through. Add in Marvel's current focus on two storylines changing the status quo along with a revisit to alternate X-Men timelines. It all comes together to make this an odd one that is engaging in some ways but utterly odd in its release with so much else going on. Read Full Review

While the Battleworld plot has been done too many times, at least this (so far) feels like a proper battle royale in the making - kind of.

The chpoice for the time displaced heroes is interesting if for no other reason that it does not include a Wolverine! AND it includes a proper Hank Pym! Gage used him very well in Avengers Academy and I'm glad that he's taking the character on because so many others would have buried him in his past misgivings.

I was surprised when Maestro showed up and very happy when he left (he's lame).

Looking forward to the next issue.
