“THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK” You’ve seen Deadpool in countless (and we mean countless) comics before — but never like this. Really. Want answers about Deadpool? Like why does he refuse to remove his weird red-and-black mask? Why does he only answer to the name “Deadpool?” Was he really part of a black bag special ops team that nobody has ever heard of? Were his teammates really given names like “Bulllseye,” “Silver Sable” and “Domino”? What did Wilson know, and when did he know it? A bloody massacre in Sinaloa, Mexico has left hundreds dead and disgraced soldier Wade Wilson has a LOT of explaining to do. Parental Adv more

Wade Wilson's War is a reasonably entertaining read, automatically putting it above 50 or so Deadpool books this month. But that still leaves another 40 to sort through. At this point it takes something really special to keep me invested in a Deadpool project, and Wade Wilson's War doesn't quite have it. Read Full Review

I don't profess to say that this comic is perfect, by no means does it reach that feat, but I don't think a Deadpool comic would ever be perfect in my eyes. It's a hangover comic, the equivalent of watching bad action movies when you're too lazy or too young to appreciate something better. Swierczynski and Pearson ensure that Deadpool, and friends, hit all the right buttons to give you an old school explodapalooza blockbuster just like you want. Have a look, see if I'm wrong. Now normally, Im able to look over little annoyances like this if the plot as a whole is something special but its not. Or at least not yet. Right now, its a fairly by-the-numbers affair, where a team of killers goes out and kills things. Theres no nuance, and as far as I can tell, no special reason. It was just a thing. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed in this outing though to be fair, the story could have a few wrinkles yet. Lets hope thats the case. Read Full Review
