As a side note, the cover for this issue is awesome. In fact, many of the covers for this series have been great (with some exceptions). The next cover, from the preview, "Stay Angry", with the Punisher looks fantastic too. With the Hulk receiving an unexpected boost from his appearance in "The Avengers," this book couldn't have come at a better time. As with the movie, this is a version of the Hulk you can root for. One who's the star in a world that's supposed to belong to someone else. Pick it up, and you won't be disappointed. Read Full Review

Next month, Aaron reunites with his "Punisher: MAX" co-creator Steve Dillon to kick off a brand new arc called 'Stay Angry', wherein the Hulk must, presumably, stay angry. That's a solid sounding premise, sure, but before this issue, I don't know if I could have told you I'd be sticking around for it. Overall, it's another fun issue of this run complete with all the action, character work, and comedy that fans should have come to expect from Jason Aaron and this series. A new story arc finally begins as this issue takes a hilarious turn when the Hulk takes a vacation and celebrates his freedom from Bruce Banner, but is he truly happy? As a Point One issue, I expected mostly flashbacks and retcons and such, as I found out in the first couple of .1"s, but this issue picks up the story and runs with it, serving as a jumping-on point while also working as a successful single issue. The scenes with the Orb are squicky as heck, and the sex scene (while thankfully mostly off-panel) has some unpleasantness to it, by design. Overall, though, the basic theme here is the inversion of roles for Banner and Hulk, and the ramifications thereof. Incredible Hulk #7.1 is a good one, even though I hate the bald Hulk and have issues with the art, earning an optimistic 3.5 out of 5 stars overall. I'm interested to see where this is heading, and hope to see more of the awesome Hulk portrayal from The Avengers movie, even if they're doing something different with the character... Marvel, House Of Ideas, whatever you're calling yourself these days, I implore you to put this madness to an end. The new Hulk reboot is a complete and total failure. The promise of Marc Silvestri's art has fallen through; Jason Aaron has managed to derail the series in just seven issues, and the art post-Silvestri has ranged from bad to laughable to unacceptable. Bring Greg Pak back, give Ed Brubaker the series or Zeb Wells or Greg Rucka or Mark Waid or Dan Slott or even hand it over to Bendis.
