While I wasn't looking this comic earned an Eisner Award for Best New Series, and I can't argue with that - this run has captured the essence of what made the movie so good and puts it on the printed page. Recommended! Read Full Review

By the end of this issue, things are looking quite grim, not just for Stark but for his compatriots Maria Hill and Pepper Potts as well. Tony, for the first time in years, seems human again, just a susceptible to failure or mistakes as the rest of us. But the final act of this arc is coming up, and it's time for Tony to show us that, in control or not, he's still a super hero. Read Full Review

With the second "Iron Man" movie coming towards theatres soon, it's nice that Marvel has a strong "Iron Man" comic to point potential new readers towards. More importantly, it's just nice to have a fun, strong comic like this being published regardless of a movie or not. Fraction and Larroca have made me interested in reading "Iron Man" every month. For that alone, well done. Read Full Review

The other cool thing is that you could probably just pick up any old random issue and pretty much know what’s going on. Seriously – I started reading this “World’s Most Wanted” storyline around part 3 or 4 and it was totally easy to figure out what was going on right from the get-go. Then again, maybe that’s a bad thing because of the whole “you’re dragging it out way too long” factor I was discussing earlier. Read Full Review

It remains to be seen how bad things will get for our hero, but it feels like we're starting to get to the stage at which Fraction is going to begin to provide some payoffs for his extensive setup. I just hope that they manage to deliver on the potential of the storyline, and ultimately, that they justify its length. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Sep 5, 2009

Invincible Iron Man #17 was a very disappointing read. Fraction did not really move the story forward with this issue at all. Fraction simply wastes time having the characters in almost the same position that they have been for the past few issues. With only two issues left in this storyline Fraction is going to step up his game in order to give us a satisfying ending to this year long story arc. Read Full Review
