Feb 04, 2026I really loved the horror feel of this comic. I love that we are seeing Magik and Colossus in mindsets and just existences that feel out of the norm for their characters. Allen's writing is top-notch, but the art team of Peralta, Hesli, and Maher do just a stunning job bringing the words to life. The story feels like a family history set against the backdrop of a modern horror story and I'm so here for it. Read Full Review

Feb 04, 2026Magik & Colossus #1 works great as an opening to a 5-issue limited run duo story. It seems like ever since the massive success of Deadpool and Wolverine that Marvel has learned to place two contrasting personalities together for a great story. This works even better here, as Magik and Colossus are siblings with a much clearer attachment to one another. Read Full Review

Feb 10, 2026This was a great start to what could be an all-time story with these two characters. Magik and Colossus have always been a duo that I've wanted to delve into more. While reading stories with them individually or on other teams, I've never dug deeper into their history. I'm a fan of a homecoming story, so this was right up my alley. Also, tying in real-world mythological beings like Lady Midday was a cool touch that I'm a big fan of! What can I say? I'm a sucker for mythological creatures. Read Full Review

Feb 04, 2026Magik and Colossus #1 is for the hardcore fans of the characters. It doesn't hit quite as emotionally as one might expect but feels like it can be a nice side adventure for these two who definitely don't get enough time together. Read Full Review

Feb 05, 2026Magik and Colossus #1 is the kind of comic that will not insult your time, but it will not fight very hard to earn a permanent spot in your memory either. If you are a fan of Magik, Colossus, or moody forest horror with clean action and solid art, this is a fair pickup when you have a light week. If your budget is tight and you only want books that feel vital or daring, you can safely skip this and wait for something that pushes the line further. In short, this is a competent side story that will please character loyalists and leave everyone else shrugging. Read Full Review

Ashley Allen knows how to write a first issue. This issue wastes little time in getting to the action and very quickly and concisely establishes where the title characters are in relation to each other. German Peralta's art continues to elevate the storytelling, and once again the use of Magik's powers is more creative than in most X-Men books.

Upon seeing everyone's rating on this issue, I must have read something different from everyone else. The best thing about this issue was the cover. I don't think Ashley Allen is a good writer. I tried reading her Magik run and I had to drop it because it got progressively worse. With the writing and dialogue, I never go the sense that these two were related and we get some wierd monsters. I would have preferred them dealing with a Russian issue that may be personal to them. This just feels dry and lifeless. I won't be continuing it. My Review Channel - https://youtu.be/70BRsY4UPMo
