Avengers: Hulkworks as a teaser to the greater game world, and Zub's angry Bruce Banner creates story opportunities for the game to further explore. Marvel has already shown with their series set in the PS4 Spider-man game that they are interested in continuing their game worlds, the question is if readers care enough to remain in this world. This is a just okay experience for longtime Marvel readers, but if you're new to the characters you might dig it. If you're buying the game this is a no-brainer to purchase since it gives us a hint or two as to what is to come and establishes the general feel of each character well. Read Full Review
MARVELS AVENGERS: HULK #1 falls into the trap of a lot of video game setup or tie-in comics by not feeling necessary. Maybe it will connect nicely, but in the meantime theres just not much story on its own here. Both the dialogue and art are hit-or-miss, and overall the result is an average book that ends up feeling more like filler than a key piece of MARVELS AVENGERS. Read Full Review

The Hulk gets the cleanest Gamerverse one-shot yet, setting up an interesting relationship for Banner and letting Jade-Jaws clobber Zzzax. It's still not storytelling for the ages -- it's totally skippable -- but there's not a lot wrong with it, either.
