The series coasts smoothly to a happily-ever-after ending, and it's by no means bad. And it *is* still a kiddie book, of course.
Still, the surprising level of complexity displayed in past issues leaves me slightly disappointed with this simple-verging-on-simplistic finale. Perhaps it's the fact that some of the past complexity lingers all the way through the setup--rushing the actual climax into a foregone conclusion and robbing it of tension.
