As a die-hard Moon Knight fan, you wont find any complaints here from me. As a die-hard action fan, you wont find any complaints either. And finally as someone who appreciates a great story, still no complaints. Since taking over this title, Mike Benson has completely changed the quality and depiction of the character. Each issue brings a new dynamic to the table and keeps this book's pulse pounding. Read Full Review
While this arc offers a compelling, if not terribly creative tale, the real selling point for me is the art. I absolutely love Jefte Palo's style. It carries a stronger superhero flair than might be immediately apparent. Characters display a fluid sense of motion, and detail is sacrificed to generate mood. I do dislike some of Palo's figure work, particularly with the overly masculine lead female character, but on the whole I think he's a great fit for this book and its new surroundings. The recent "Death of Marc Spector" arc cleared the way for a new kind of "Moon Knight" comic, and Mike Benson has started to take advantage of the opportunity to tell stories that feel different from the ones that came before. Okay...I have a BIG problem with the covers for issues 26 and 27. They are incredibly misleading. Why feature the Punisher on two straight covers only to him appear in literally only 2-3 panels between both issues? An absolutely BS marketing tactic that I'm sure pissed off more than a few folks who were duped into buying these issues hoping for a Moon Knight/Punisher showdown.
That aside, this issue was actually quite good on its own merit. The art was honestly awesome, and the story was way more coherent and was a lot easier to follow.
