At first glance, it might seem like Gwen is a guest in her own title, but this issue's revelations skillfully balances the crossover characters and story while setting the main series up for a bold new direction. Not as warm as fuzzy as previous chapters, but the event fortunately shows no sign of slowing down. Read Full Review
It took a while for Spider-Women to find a narrative footing, but it picked up by the end of last month. With the new month of stories upon us, the story is breaking out into a sprint. Everything is set up for an exciting conflict and internal character struggles to explode into one another. It's going to be very exciting to see where this goes throughout May. Read Full Review
SPIDER-GWEN #8 gets a half recommendation from me. Those who are reading the “Spider-Women” crossover absolutely have to read it. However, readers who are only interested in the title character may want to skip the issue and simply seek out a synopsis of the reveals made about Gwen's past. Read Full Review
"Spider-Women" has quickly changed into "Silks" with all the emphasis on various Cindy Moons of different worlds. That's a great aspect of this event, as Silk is easily the least known of the Spider-Women trinity in this event, but could also be off-putting to some Spider-Gwen fans who rightly expect more of Gwen in her own title.
