• Spider-Man has had one goal since his girlfriend Tempest fell into a coma following a terrorist attack: To take down THE FIST, the organization responsible.
• But Tempest is on the mend, and though there's still much to be done to stop the Fist, nothing will keep Miguel from seeing his love.
• Nothing except MAN MOUNTAIN MARKO!!!

I also like the conflict that David is setting up, particularly with regard to Miguel facing off against his time-displaced family tree. When you add in Tempest's involvement (and the very big news we learn about her this issue), Spider-Man 2099 still ends up being an enjoyable book"just not as much as it usually is. Read Full Review
Miguel's nemesis/father hijacks his girlfriend while Man-Mountain Marko beats on Miguel. It's an interesting chunk of plot, but it's wrapped in some dreadfully off-putting art. Will Sliney is good at drawing three-dimensional volumes and hopeless at assembling those volumes into living, breathing people. The results vary between stiff and frightening, and the faces in this issue are particularly nightmarish.
