CASINO ROYALE!
• HAN SOLO gets demoted for insubordination - dragging his fellow cadets down with him. They go from flying TIE fighters to flying a giant cargo ship.
• Han's expert flying cuts their cargo ship's flight time in half, allowing them to stop at a casino for some hard-earned R&R.
• But Han's fellow cadets quickly learn this little "vacation" was NOT authorized by the Empire and, thanks to Han, they're all considered AWOL!

This is an incredible outing for Han and his friends, showing the Corellian to be very smart. There are several fun lines and reveals in this tale, with the visuals being outstanding. I love the smug and angry looks the characters give each other, and the climax of the issue is filled with some shocking reveals. This is fun in every possible way. This is perfect Star Wars reading with the galaxy's youngest scoundrel. Read Full Review
The Imperial Cadet series does some fun stuff here with the crew but it's still hard to suspend disbelief to the larger shenanigan that's being pulled here by Han to get what he wants. There's some good character stuff that mixes into it and getting a nod toward Qi'ra that was enjoyable. I'm still not connecting well with Han's fellow cadets but I liked the silliness of the pleasure sure and mild casino moments, especially Kanina's comfort within them considering her general straightlaced manner. Having rewatched the Solo film a few days before reading this installment just has me wishing for more exploration of this period but a better look at the Empire during it as well and wanting this to be more than it is, which is squarely my fault. Narratively, the events did little to move the storyline forward in any substantial way, yet for those of you keeping up with the series who haven't particularly enjoyed this exploration of his early days, you'll appreciate hints of the character's signature traits. Read Full Review
Star Wars: Han Solo - Imperial Cadet #3 is a huge step forward in a series that seemed dead on arrival. Ending with a return to the drudgery of the academy, this issue may stand as a singular high point in the series. But even if it does, it’s a good one-off story from Han’s academy days that suits the classic character and shows his tenacity and unwavering commitment to those he loves. Read Full Review
I don't really like the way Han looks in this issue, but there is a lot of solid character work. This is the Han Solo we know.
