Gail Simone is setting up some stuff that I’m really excited to see play out! This was an excellent way to bring one story to a close with Graymalkin Prison while looking to what the future has in store for the X-Men. Read Full Review

Uncanny X-Men #38 is a rewarding chapter that brings Gail Simone's long-running storylines into focus while setting up some dangerous new possibilities. Sarah Gaunt's growing influence is increasingly unsettling, especially as her four mutant protégés begin to reveal their abilities. Meanwhile, Dazzler's defiance at Graymalkin Prison delivers a satisfying moment of reckoning. Luciano Vecchio brings incredible energy to the action, with striking character designs and some genuinely disturbing imagery. Packed with consequential developments, this standout issue rewards longtime readers and offers plenty of reasons to jump back in if you're not reading already. Read Full Review

There were only a few series at best. There is a history that was almost intelligible whether it was in the past, the present or the future. Something happened since then. And so it's difficult to blame Simone for this. However, it really exhausting to try to keep up with everything and to feel like it isn't just an echo of a shadow of what's come before.
