    X-Man's Comic Blog - x-man75 Mar 28, 2009

For a lifelong Marvel Comic book fanatic, who grew up reading about the Shi'ar in Uncanny X-Men and the Kree in Avengers this was euphoric experience. After reading this issue, I can confidently state that War of Kings is going to finally give us a Marvel event that lives up to expectations. One last thing before I cut out, the cover price for this comic is a rather daunting $3.99. Although the cover price is a bit high, this comic was WELL worth it! Any comic book fan owes it to themselves to at least give this comic a shot... It really was that frigging great. Read Full Review

A veritable dream for science fiction/fantasy fans, War of Kings is event comics done right. The duo have taken a cast of C-listers and thrust them into prominence, providing ample proof that good writing can transform even the meekest of pawns into noteworthy icons. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Rokk Krinn Mar 6, 2009

War of Kings #1 was an incredibly entertaining issue. Do not be scared to give this issue a try just because you missed out on Annihilation Conquest, Secret Invasion Inhumans or Brubaker's Uncanny X-Men story arc dealing with Vulcan. It is not necessary to have read those comics in order to enjoy War of Kings #1. DnA do their best to make sure to give the reader enough all the information in this issue that they need to know in order to properly enjoy War of Kings. War of Kings is definitely new reader friendly. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Benjamin Birdie Mar 3, 2009

This issue might not have the scale of other Marvel events just yet, but both the writing and the art are unassuming in their appeal, but never lacking in it. It is a classically and colorfully fun book, and with the dire machinations of Dark Reign taking over one little corner of the Universe, it's lovely to see the other 99.976% having a blast.
