Jason Latour (Loose Ends, Wolverine) and artist Nic Klein (Dancer, Viking, Doc Savage) bring to life the penultimate chapter of THE WINTER SOLDIER’S newest deadly mission.Seated high above Earth in a S.H.I.E.L.D. satellite, The ELECTRIC GHOST has set her world-shattering plan in motion. This issue looks awesome, too. Nic Klein's unique style gives Winter Soldier a look that is unlike anything in any other superhero book. He colors this thing as well, and a lot of the comic's character comes from that. That said, there is one page where the coloring feels a bit sloppy, with red scribbles serving as blood. It's clearly a stylistic choice, but it feels out of place with the rest of the book. Not bad or good, just a noticeable blip that felt unnecessary. All in all, Winter Soldier is a comic that is going to be missed dearly. Read Full Review
This issue delivers in many ways with a good look on a character that has been teased many issues before, giving us a great origin with some stunning art from Nic Klein. While the next issue will be the last, Latour and Klein seems to be going out of their way to give us one hell of a finale if they can manage to top this. Read Full Review
"Winter Soldier" #18 is a very good character origin issue that still weaves into the current tale. It isn't the finest issue from the Latour/Klein run, but if this is as low as it dips then it's certainly going well. Tesla Tarasova's life is something to study and almost mourn over. . . $3, 20pgs. %$#@& ADs!! Nice art, bad cover layout. . . Latour continues to impress with a good spy revenge tale turns to introduction to a villainess you didn't know you were dying to fall for. James is literally sidelines here, but instead we are treated to a tight and tidy accounting of the background of the electric ghost! i like the dialog, voice and character already; design is great, eevn if they do use a very silly 'pac man' ghost logo for her belt buckle. hah. look out for col. sanders!
I would not recommend this story arc. Read up to 14 and stop. I don’t care about Electroc Ghost. Joe Robards, though, he intrigued me but sadly Latour thought it best that he take a backseat for the last couple issues
