Comic Vine - Tony 'G-Man' Guerrero

I'm really torn with this story. I'm not a fan of the death of characters only to see them return later. At least with Sabretooth, it's technically been close to five years (if you don't count his appearance in the Wolverine Goes to Hell arc). Wolverine needs Sabretooth as one of his villains. He's too evil of a character and thorn in his side to be killed off. The explanation as to how he died and is now returning isn't fully explained just yet. What we do see raises some questions, at least for me. The inclusion of Simone Bianchi's art gives the story the atmosphere needed to make this feel like it's going to be a big and gritty story. We also see the return of another deadly villain that gives this title the darker tone you would expect in a Wolverine comic. WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN is a great read and I absolutely love it but there are times we need less fun and more doom and gloom in a Wolverine story. Read Full Review

So far, Sabretooth Reborn does nothing to suggest that Wolverine needed Romulus back in his life or that the story of Sabretooth's return required such a large stage to be told. If Evolutiondidn't win you over already, this arc likely won't either. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - James Hunt

Still, as comics go, it's merely unimpressive rather than particularly bad. It's unlikely to make new readers care, but if you've been following the story of Romulus over the last few years, then at least it seems that you're about to get some kind of resolution -- and then we need never speak of him again. Oh this was just awful. I was wondering how they would follow-up on the Evolution storyline and this is... uh, not a good way to do it. The Romulus stuff continues to be as dumb as a sack of bricks. Perhaps not as dumb as some of Romulus' earlier stories in the Origins line, but still quite dumb. At least the art is still pretty cool.
