X-Factor is STILL, I've said it before I'll say it again, one of the most underrated books on the shelf. The characters and the team were once almost a punchline, but Peter David's work since the Madrox mini-series has absolutely elevated the team to one of the most emotionally resonant and diverse groups in the entire Marvel Universe. They don't squabble like the X-Men, they aren't brooding killers like X-Force, they're not whacky like X-Statix, they truly are just what they are and that's the best of all of those teams. They're dysfunctional for sure, but they also work together like few other teams and have a sense of humor about their situation. Pacing issues aside, this series continues to be one of Marvel's unsung best. I can't say that I'm sad that it's ending, it sounds like a mutual decision and I'd rather see it go out on the creators' terms than have it shamble along without passion or drive, but I'll definitely miss it after September. This terrific instalment makes it evermore bitter that Peter David is leaving the title. While sentiment is high, David puts the team through a Hell that is of higher magnitude than anything experienced before. As X-Factor faces their darkest moments, they shine their brightest. Read Full Review

While I've enjoyed it for the most part and the art has been fantastic. X-Factor is coming to an end this September and I'm very eager to see what plot line is going to lead them to bringing this series to a close. Hopefully we'll see the team members, assuming they live, show up in the other titles out there. Even if they only pop up as cameos in other titles I'd love to see the team from X-Factor not just fade into obscurity. Read Full Review
Penultimate chapters usually rock, and X-Factor #255 is no exception. The balance of power has tipped in the Hell on Earth War, and only the raggedy band of mutant heroes we know and love has any chance of saving the world. Writer Peter David does a great job of setting up the final challenge and positioning X-Factor as the last hope for the fate of the planet " minus one of their own! That's right!
