It is a grand thing to be so excited about several X-Men titles, and an even grander thing to consistently be surprised, entertained, and delighted by X-title after X-title. A really nice first issue of X-Men under the Regenesis banner. It's just nice to see a discrete team of X-Men sent off on a real mission without having the team get polluted with extra characters. Love the new “piss off” attitude from Team Cyclops too. Read Full Review
You know what? I actually enjoyed this issue... Maybe it was because I like this X-Men team about 500 times more than the team in Uncanny X-Men, or maybe it was because the story was pretty easy to follow, but yeah, I enjoyed this one. Seriously, a team that consists of Storm, Psylocke, Warpath, Vampire Jubilee, Domino is pretty damn great in my eyes. Sure, I don't get why Jugger-Colossus is there, but I really can't complain too much when there's only one member of a team that I don't particularly care for out of six characters. I also liked that the War Machine appearance didn't feel overly forced. He's currently serving the US government, so it would make sense he'd get the call to get the X-Men away from the hot spot to prevent any further escalation. Yep, no major complaints with this one. I'm excited about this title once again, and I'm looking forward to what Gischler can do with these characters outside of the spotlight's glare. The use of Sentinels as weapons of mass destruction traded on the black market is a fun take on an old concept, and I'm hoping that Gischler can do the same with Domino, Psylocke, Jubilee, Colossus, and Warpath.
