Khoi Pham's art fits in well with the general visual tone established in recent arcs. Pham's pencils are laid back but still generally detailed and energetic when need be. Steve Kurth's pages in the backup feature don't fare quite as well thanks to an overly busy and heavily inked approach to the characters. Both artists face the unenviable task of measuring up to the inimitable Bill Sienkiewicz thanks to the included reprint of New Mutants #27. I'm not usually a fan of these space-padding reprints, but this issue is both relevant and a visual delight. Read Full Review
Despite the odd choice of bonus material, there's very little to complain about, technically speaking. It's possible you don't like Carey's story choices -- his attachment to Frenzy, his belief in the Rogue/Magneto pairing -- but if those don't put you off, it's simply firing on every cylinder. "X-Men Legacy" might soon be the longest-running X-book. Issues like this show that it's worthy of the accolade. Read Full Review
On the whole, if youve been following this title, Id recommend keeping with itthis issue seems to transition from the Age of X stuff and its immediate aftermath to whatever comes next. As this is set firmly within recent continuity and events, its not the BEST point for a new reader to jump on, but its not a horrible point to try things out, either. Read Full Review
Different characters and different stories. I don't know about you, but I get plenty of Wolverine in my other Marvel books. Your level of enjoyment will probably be linked to how much you love (a) Legion or (b) the Starjammers, but I applaud the X-office for giving us a different sort of book. Now just let Carey tell his story and not get yanked into the crossover de jour. Read Full Review
