This creative team gives me hope for the comic industry in general. D4VE has been the perfect balance of writing and art and goes to show that if you're unwilling to sacrifice one for the other, then you'll produce something fantastic. D4VE has been a great ride. Issue #5 was a great wrap up to the arc and on the whole, the series was a gem. Many readers are still on the fence about buying digital only series. Without a doubt, D4VE is the kind of series that can change the mind of anyone that feels that. As this point it seems safe to say that Monkeybrain is the sleeper hit of the arms race of comics publishers. While Image is revitalising print and Marvel is doing its best to implement their strategies into their universe all the while DC tries to recapture the magic of the 90s, Monekybrain has been putting comics as good as “D4VE” without the fanfare they deserves. Well, this is the fanfare it deserves: at $0.99 an issue, this series combined would put you back the exact same and extra-sized print issue would and would give you five times the content.
