The classic series returns, blasting its way into an all-new battle-scarred, laser-ravaged adventure! In a galaxy torn by strife, savaged by civil war, boiling with spilled blood, Alien Legion is a cosmic military force doing its damnedest to keep the peace by always being ready for war. The squad's grizzled veterans are on what should be a boring milk run, shepherding refugees fleeing a civil war ripping apart their system. Could be a good chance to toughen the newbies into soldiers, until peacekeeping descends into full-scale war!

You haven't seen science fiction action until you've read Alien Legion. A fantastic, and long overdue, return to comics that should be read by everyone. Big thanks to all the creators and Titan Comics for bringing it back. Highest possible recommendation. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge Sep 23, 2014

I'll easily admit that I'm going into this with a little bit of fanboyism and a healthy dose of nostalgia based on what I read in the past. And also a nod towards the creative team here as both Chuck Dixon and Larry Stroman simply know their stuff in constructing the big picture Legion stories and making the cast accessible as it goes on. The opening arc here is very rough for anyone not familiar with the concept and design, which is why we really recommend picking those books up as well because they're awesome. Uncivil War has a hard road to hoe as it starts here, but the further in I got, the more I was reminded why I adored those early books. This one sets up a big event that's underway, throws Force Nomad into it and lets the chips fall where they may. I'm excited to see what's yet to come and hope for a whole lot more. Read Full Review

Alien Legion fans definitely shouldn't miss this series. In regards to new readers I can see some of them being frustrated with the issue, but if you give it a shot you will come to understand what the series and plot is all about. As for the characters and such, that's going to have to be a slow burn and something better explored in future issues. By no means does that mean you should skip this issue and if you're a fan of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy then you should give this a look as well. Read Full Review

Overall, Alien Legion: Uncivil War #1 is not an easy read to get into because it doesn't appear to be geared towards new readers. Fans of previous volumes of Alien Legion should have no issue getting into this. If anything, it's a worthwhile purchase because of Stroman's art. Read Full Review

    Newsarama - Scott Cederlund Mar 19, 2014

Alien Legion: Uncivil War #1 does everything it possibly can except to tell a story. Neither the writing or the art move in any way that develops and grows. It starts out full of noise and bluster and basically flat lines from there. Without real characters or stakes, Dixon, Stroman and Potts produce a comic book that lacks even the most basic elements of a story- a reason for its audience to care about anything that they have just read.
