I can get behind a world like Anno Dracula. The notion that you can take characters and situation from a horror genre and throw it into a murder mystery, or spy thriller will keep my mind working for days. Anno Dracula 1895: Seven Days in Mayhem #1 is definitely worth checking out if you have a fondness for vampires, or if you are already a fan of the Anno Dracula series. This first issue may be a bit confusing for first time readers, but Newman and McCaffrey work together to serve up a tale that has me wanting to see what happens next. Read Full Review

Anno Dracula presents an intriguing premise that is off to a very slow start. I hope with the introductions out of the way, the book can pick up some speed and flesh out the characters a bit more as it has some great potential. At the bare minimum, it's exposed me to this series which I'll have to explore further with the novels to learn more about. Read Full Review
Ultimately Anno Dracula is a solid comic, but it never grabbed me " it's a workaday title. Just as every vampire pales in comparison to Dracula himself, this title can't wriggle out from under the monstrous bulk of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. So it goes. Read Full Review
