Once again Jody Houser delivers a fun story, which I am sure is going to have lots of plot twists as it all develops. This opening issue does not include the Doctor. But it would seem that The 12th Doctor is likely to turn up at some stage in this story. However, for now, the main story focuses on Doom and her remaining 24 hours as she tries to find the Doctor. Doctor Who: Dooms Day #1 is a diverting romp from 19th Century New York to 52nd Centurys Stormcage. Seasoned with humor and peppered with allusions to the original Master and River Song, the story satisfies as Missy constantly fights her instincts to be oh-so-bad. Read Full Review

There is a lot of potential here and if they are able to fine-tune that potential, they will turn me into a full-time reader. I haven't changed my opinion on Doctor Who comics just yet, but there might be a comic from this team that turns me around, I can feel it, they are closing in on something good, just a little extra push and they'll find it. DOCTOR WHO: DOOMS DAY #1 is a serviceable first issue in Missys (miss)adventures pretending to be Doctor Who. The pacing, energy, and atmosphere ring true for a Doctor Who adventure, but the absence of logic and an actual Doctor Who are a downer. Read Full Review
