Samurai #4 concludes in a way that was least expected. I was completely blown away by the creative decisions made. A methodically drawn conclusion that was superbly handled by this creative team. The character of Shobi until now could have been any generic bad guy Samurai. But in this issue he proves his honor. We don't know why he was beholden to the Yakuza, but we do know it wasn't because of any selfish or financial reasons. This is one of the few 100% reviews you'll see me give. Samurai #4 is an impressive conclusion to the series with its satisfying handling of its many story threads. Temuri's evolution from a captive to finding her place on the island is just indicative of the thoughtfulness put into the character development for all the characters. The duel between Takeo and Shobei lost some of the suspense with the Yakuza leaving but is still impactful due to the effects on the villagers and Takeo. And with the big development at the end I can't wait for the next series. Read Full Review
This story makes me want to be at the Isle of Hope. The weather, the people, the beauty, the scenery, the samurais! Whether or not you enjoy the culture represented in this series, it is a wonderful read for anyone. This arc was resolved in an effective manner. Now, it’s off the story arc #2! See you there!
