Overall, Archer & Armstrong is one of the most consistent comics on the market, delivering action and humor wrapped up in a nice package of commentary. This one-shot adds to the zaniness and gives us what will turn out to be fun villains for down the road. Read Full Review
Ultimately, we see how rebellion has been co-opted by the ruling elites and how the old guard is replaced by a new generation that's just as corrupt as their predecessors. It's a gleefully nihilistic and cynical story that forms an interesting post-script to this most recent run of Archer & Armstrong and sets up a compelling villain for our heroes to face in the future. Archer and Armstrong: The One Percent #1 should excite current fans of the series and really sets up some very interesting story possibilities for the future of these characters, and I can't wait to see how this affects the rest of the Valiant universe. Read Full Review
I wasn't the biggest fan of the short story from the 25th, but I really dug this full issue. It should be interesting to see what happens, but more so how it will affect our duo of Archer and Armstrong. If anything you'll enjoy the quick wit and sharp dialogue. Read Full Review

Archer & Armstrong fans will find a ton of things to love in Archer & Armstrong: The One Percent #1. This comic sets up an interesting organization to muck things up in the Valiant U going forward, and Fawkes & Eisma did a solid job capturing the spoiled-brat nature of these characters…and then added in a homicidal streak for fun. I'd recommend any Valiant fans give this one a read, you will be entertained. Read Full Review

Well, therein lies the first problem: Archer and Armstrong dont feature in this one shot, with the focus instead being a coup dtat within the secretive 1% Sect, one of the many clandestine cult-like orders that secretly run the world. Readers of Archer and Armstrong(and maybe Harbinger) will know what Im talking about, but there is seemingly little here to recommend to new readers. Ray Fawkes (Batman Eternal, Justice League Dark) tells an adequate tale, met with clear and bold artwork from Joe Eisma (Morning Glories) and Ulises Arreola (Green Arrow, Batgirl); but there just isnt the usual wild spark of creativity Valiant has been bringing to basically every title. Events in this one-shot foreshadow a new threat for Archer and Armstrong, perhaps even the Valiant universe itself, but from this beginning it is hard to get to excited about it right now.
