I know that if you don't read Valiant books, you must be sick of how much people praise them. This book is a good entry point. It is a single stand alone story. Have you ever said to yourself, "Gee, I wish the Bourne movies would have a baby with the big action movies of the '90s!" No? Well, it does sound pretty awesome now that you're thinking about it, right? If you agree then there's no reason to miss out on this title. It has dastardly and cowardly villains, ginormous amounts of brutal action and a lead with a whole lot of heart. I'm pumped for Bloodshot's role in 'Harbinger Wars' and you should be, too. Manuel Garcia does a fine job with the art in this issue. His action scenes " of which there are simply not enough of " have a nice dynamic energy to them. You can just feel the brutality as legs snap and heads crunch. Where things get loose is in the character work. Other than fat grandma and Bloodshot, a lot of the characters look pretty interchangeable, especially the females. It makes the quieter moments awkward, since there's an emotional punch missing. Hopefully the upcoming Harbinger Wars will return Bloodshot to its former, action-packed glory. Read Full Review
Overall, another solid issue from the Bloodshot series. There isn’t anything extremely special about this issue, other than the expected development of the psiot children and Bloodshot now working together and the unexpected development of Mellissa’s death. If you’ve been reading the series pick this one up, if not, I’d say either wait until next issue or pick up a few back issues and start from there. Either way, I still recommend checking out this series as soon as you can, it’s pretty different and definitely a lot of fun. Read Full Review
This is one of my favorite books on the stands. It's not deep or sentimental, but it sure as hell is fun with a lot of 'wow' moments, solid storytelling and cool art. This issue, in particular, marks a turning point in the series leading into Harbinger Wars. READ THIS BOOK
