The Broken Infinite - Frank Rodriguez Feb 8, 2016

This issue was definitely a wonderful issue. There was action, drama, suspense and tension that would not be denied. This third part of Operation: Deadside and Legends of the Magpie was full of tension, detail and compelling characters. We saw our heroes all evolve in so many ways, particularly with the return of Shadowman. The art is simply some of the best these artists and colorists have ever done. The panels are both vivid enough to really pull readers in. I really felt bad for Jack for everything that he's endured but I am really looking forward to the finale of Operation: Deadside. Outright Geekery - Eric Ogar Baumgard Feb 9, 2016

Ninjak is a book with a lot to offer, and Kindt and company are using Operation Deadside to prove that they can capitalize on every ounce of that potential. This is a fun story as single issues, and I feel it'll be even better when collected as a trade. Definitely pick this up the next time you visit your local comic shop! Read Full Review

Infinite Comix - Daniel Gehen Feb 11, 2016

The only discernible flaw in this issue is the art shake-up for a portion of the book, where Diego Bernard fills in for Roberto De La Torre. Bernard's art is by no means bad – it actually is quite engaging – but De La Torre's unique style has defined the look of Shan and her world. No matter who Valiant was able to find to help out was sure to be jarring. Thankfully, David Baron's gorgeous colors ease the transition. Moreover, the story by Jen Van Meter, surprisingly action-heavy, maintains the suspense and mystery that readers have come to expect from Doctor Mirage, setting up what should be a satisfying. Time and again, this creative team proves thatThe Death Defying Doctor Mirage: Second Livesis one of the best books being published. Read Full Review

Bounding Into Comics - John F. Trent Feb 11, 2016

Ninjak #12 is another fantastic entry that continues to world build within the Deadside through both dialogue and artwork. Kindt, Braithwaite, and Ryp's pacing is excellent, combining emotional character moments with heart-pounding action. Kindt and Braithwaite absolutely nail it by completely exposing Magpie emotionally. Kindt even teases a new ability that Ninjak possesses. Ninjak is killing it. Read Full Review

Comic Crusaders - Dylan Hicks Feb 10, 2016

Besides two minor complications, this was another wonderful issue by this creative team/s and Valiant Entertainment. Matt Kindt has been doing some incredible things with Ninjak, going places I never thought he would go. But he has not done it by himself. This issue specifically was greatly influenced by the art team. Each story, Operation Deadside and The Lost Files, had a unique texture to each of them, which made the issue worth every dime. I also would like to give credit to the letterer, Dave Sharpe. His captions and speech bubbles were perfectly placed. They never got in the way of the art, and they also outlined defining moments in each panel. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge Feb 11, 2016

While I'm still not thrilled with the Deadside story in general, both Punk and Colin come across well here and I'm rather intrigued by what Shadowman hints at here without saying outright. The story still isn't captivating but damn if Braithwaite isn't absolutely killing it here. While I'm still kind of frustrated by the heavy darker color that we get that takes away from the details, the look and flow of this book is once again fantastic. There's some really fun creativity going into these set designs and the flow of the action. I just wish Colin wasn't stuck in such an awful suit. Beyond that, however, Ninjak is killing it in the artwork department and that makes this worth the read right there. Read Full Review

Ninjak's trek through the Deadside hasn't been the series' strongest point, but credit must be given for how well Matt Kindt continues to utilize his lead so far out of his comfort zone. Read Full Review
