"THE FIST & THE STEEL"...strangled by Silk!
His body consumed by a preternatural cancer in the present, Colin King's mind has grasped a prophetic vision of the future - one that just might hold the key to a cure! But years from today, that quest will bring him face-to-face yet again with one of the world's most perverse criminal and scientific minds: the devious Dr. Silk! Hoping to exploit the mysteries of the Deadside in his quest for immortal life, Silk has left rot and ruin in his polluted wake - until the newly allied team of Ninjak and the Eternal Warrior come crashing down on his plot to conquer not just the future...but all of more
The ending of this issue proves just how mentally advanced Ninjak is. He's put himself in a comatosed state to slow down the parasitical bug in his brain, and he's living in the future. Mentally though. Not physically. It's a crazy story that we're looking forward to seeing how it all comes together. Read Full Review
As mentioned above the story may or may not be hard to follow depending on how much of the previous issues you've read but it is a good story. It might also be a little long but it could be seen as necessary so you can understand the story better. The action scenes and the humor more than make this a good read however. So if you've already been reading Ninjak or don't mind jumping in here and have the patience this will be a good issue to pick up. I give Ninjak # 20 an8 out of 10. Read Full Review
Ninjak continues to be that kind of frustrating book where I just can't fully connect with the tone because of the pacing since it barrels through things too fast and then slows down at the weirdest times. I'm no fan of the Deadside thing but it's pretty nicely used here and Khari Evans delivers some fun looking sequences of desolation and weirdness for the pair to work against. The whole time connection thing is an amusing way to deal with a problem but it's also just something that feels too easy in a lot of ways. The real win with this book continues to be the time and dialogue between Colin and Gilad for a whole host of reasons. The two are just a hoot as Old Colin just doesn't suffer things like he used to – which wasn't a lot to begin with! Read Full Review
The inclusion of a recap page is basically my favorite thing though, and should be included in every comic, as it is a grand way of getting just enough of a back story as to not feel lost if your first issue is far along in the series. Overall I'll say that I like the art, the dialogue, the story is heading in a fun and interesting and very new direction from anything I've read in a while, so I'll continue reading it. Overall, Ninjak #20 is better than the previous issue, coming much closer to the quality of comic that I've felt has been missing for several issues in the series. A welcome return to form. Read Full Review
We can expect big things from Ninjak next year, with the youtube series starting and it looks like we will be getting a confrontation with Master Darque who hasn't been seen since the Book of Death series so there are exciting things coming up for our favourite British Ninja. A good issue, after a lackluster couple of issues. Read Full Review
While an improvement from last month, this arc is still working out some kinks. Read Full Review
Ninjak #20 could be considereda kind of weak issue, but there's still tons of cool material, characters, plot lines and mystery to work with Read Full Review
Ninjak continues to entertain, but the creative team seems to be have bitten off more than they can chew, at least for this issue. The structure of the issue makes for a confusing and at times repetitive experience, while the art lacks the crispness of this arc's previous chapters. Hopefully this dip in quality from "great" to merely "okay" is an aberration and the series rebounds in the concluding chapter to "The Fist and The Steel." Read Full Review
Before I get a whole load of hate mail, let me say, that this is just one book. One bad review doesn't destroy a comic universe, in much the same way a goodreview doesn't create one. There have been a number of quality books from Valiant in the past. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them. Read Full Review
