Overall, this is a great installment of the possibly the best new series of the summer. Valiant is making a big comeback in a big way, and they couldn't have picked a better comic to lead with. At this point we can move past saying that Valiant is back! and start making the case that Valiant is now here to stay. Every single issue of a new Valiant comic that Ive read has been great and left me wanting more. I think we all know that Aric is a great warrior, but I wonder as the issues go on and Aric loses more and more links to his previous life, how will he adjust to this new life? Will he be able to learn how to live on Earth in modern-day? Will he even stay on Earth? What will become of Aric and the armor. Honestly, there are a lot of questions that you can ask going into issue #4, but the best part is, the character development of Aric will leave the readers of this book truly wanting more. Cary Nord's art looks great, if not quite as polished, in this issue. His character work is fantastic. The action looks awesome, but not as big as it did in the first issue. It's not bad, but the backgrounds drop away more often and the line detail is missing at times. Still, Aric versus an alien in a giant mechsuit is crazy cool, and we finally get some brief laser sword action. The best panels though are the ones that show the anger and intensity in Aric's face. The very last page is one of those moments where you go, "This is not going to end well." I'm ready for the next issue, Valiant. Read Full Review

The script so far has more than done the title justice and the pencils are not my favourite, but the combination of the inks and colours really save the day, creating a nice look and feel for everything.If the other Valiant books are all this good in both story and art, you'll love them. "X-O Manowar" #3 finally pitches the larger concept of the series. Readers spent the first two issues getting Aric into the armor and this issue shows both the advantages and possible consequences. By the final pages, the larger narrative is gets a visible, promising direction -- dramatic action, a character you completely feel for and a high concept that offers many amazing options. "X-O Manowar" is the jewel in the Valiant relaunch and is in no danger of slowing its momentum. Read Full Review
