X-O Manowar is awesome. I'm not going to spend hours here coming up with wacky adjectives or ridiculous analogies to describe this issue. It's just awesome. I love this book, and this story was great from front to back. Read Full Review

Stepping in for Cary Nord is Lee Garbett and he doesn't miss a beat. The book looks fan-freaking-tastic. The battle between a speical forces group and Aric in the jungle is so ridiculous and violent. At one point, Aric punches a grenade through a guys ribcage. Yeah. Garbett draws the hell out of all of it. Also, he gets to draw Ninjak and that makes the man a true hero. Ninjak is back! X-O Manowar continues the Valiant revival with everything that I look for in a comic book series today; strong writing that has a purpose and momentum, art that compliments the story in an exciting style while being easy to follow, and characters that are well defined and interesting. If that seems like something you would be interested in reading then I urge you to go pick up X-O Manowar, or any of the Valiant titles, and enjoy some of the best comics being published today. In conclusion, X-O Manowar has been and still is one of the most exciting comics on the market. I think this was the perfect story to introduce Ninjak in, and I am very excited to find out more, and to see how Aric makes it out of the astonishing predicament he finds himself in on the last page of #5. Cliffhangers, I can't emphasize them enough, and this issue pulls it off. Read Full Review
Still...I'm really digging X-O Manowar, and hoping this series lasts a good, long time. Read Full Review
"X-O Manowar" #5 is an action conspiracy comic with a character heart beating at its center. The journey of Aric is tinged with poignancy as much as it is soaked in the blood of alien and human foes. This issue is filled with action on a massive and personal scale. It is a relief to see the quality of this book continue as it emerges from the opening arc and forges on into a larger tale. Okay, I understand that Valiant needs to get more people to read Ninjak. With orders for X-O reaching 25,000 a month, they sure as hell don’t need any more readers on that book. So I will tolerate this crossover for now in the hopes that Venditti brings us back to the excellent storytelling focusing on Aric that we had in issues 1 through 4. Read Full Review
Words cannot even describe how cool of a character Ninjak is! And the balance between Aric with the manowar armor and Ninjak and his fighting tactics are superb. Why are you not reading this series yet!?
