Aric of Dacia has bonded with the most powerful weapon in the universe, but his command of the sentient X-O Manowar armor will lead him to cross swords with Ninjak, the world’s most skilled weapons specialist. Hired by members of The Vine hidden deep within Earth’s governments, Ninjak has been sent to bring back the Manowar armor at any cost. It’s raw power versus stealth and cunning in the second installment of the espionage-edged thriller that pits two of Valiant’s most popular heroes against each other – to the death.

First Comics News - Matthew Szewczyk Oct 17, 2012

Overall it was another very well done issue that continues to push the story forward in a logical fashion while providing comic fans with top notch action as well. That is a very tough balance to achieve but they nailed it again with this issue, if you have not checked it out yet then by all means give it a try. For the price of a new DVD you can get completely caught up on an amazing comic book series as it builds up to it's series contained event, Planet Death which is gets started in issue nine. I love this comic. As if I haven't made it apparent already. The action is at such a great pace, and has finally found its balance with real intelligent dialogue. I ask you, "If you're not reading this series, why not?" It'll grab you by the throat and say, "Listen here! BLAM!" and splatter your expectations all over your brain in a fit of sci-fi action. Seriously, it's that good. Read Full Review

There's lots to enjoy in this issue and series...I'm very much invested in this whole new Valiant line, and with the quality of these first few months, I even forgive the $3.99 pricing and plan to be on board for quite some time to come. Read Full Review

    IGN - Benjamin Bailey Oct 17, 2012

Once again, Lee Garbett draws some awesome looking stuff. This issue looks great, although not quite as good as the previous issue. There's a little less polish here, a little less attention to detail. Still, the fight scenes look awesome and considering the fact that a large portion of this book is a fight scene, that's a very good thing. X-O Manowar is not just one of Valiant's best books, it's one of the best books being published right now, period. Read Full Review

Comic Vine - Mat 'Inferiorego' Elfring Oct 17, 2012

While all of Valiant's revamped books are great, X-O MANOWAR stands out above the rest, barely beating out ARCHER & ARMSTRONG. While this issue may not be the best jumping on point, it's still pretty new reader friendly. This issue was a ton of fun and filled with great sequences of action as well as fantastic story development. Read Full Review

How much more can I praise this title? If you had to collect only title from Valiant’s catalogue, I would go with this one. Read Full Review

Graphic Policy - Brett Schenker Oct 30, 2013

So, lets overall look at this. We have a Visigoth, in alien army, on modern day earth, fighting a ninja and having to prevent an alien invasion. That's a lot there to take in and make work together. The series has been good, and getting better as it's been going on. I think this issue is the strongest and really gets the story moving forward, something that seems to be a pattern with a lot of the Valiant comics. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Jennifer Cheng Oct 22, 2012

Vine plant Alexander Dorian becomes more of a major player in "X-O Manowar" #6, although his choices and motivations aren't completely explicable yet. My hope is that with ambiguous, engaging characters like Alexander Dorian, Ninjak and Aric himself, Venditti will continue to make the good vs. evil question in this book less simplistic, or dodge it entirely, while continuing to deliver a strong espionage action book with fantasy and science fiction elements. ust as the story is getting back in gear, Garbett continues to do a great job on art duties since joining the team last issue. His clean lines convey emotion and action with equal aplomb, and I'm eager to see how things go as he becomes more familiar with the characters and universe. Read Full Review

When Aric, who has been drugged by Ninjak, wakes up, reunites with his armor and fights with Ninjak, look out! With very little dialog and a few well placed grunts and sound effects this leads to page after page of pure action. Can two men who want to kill each other work with an alien traitor to save Earth? Get ready for an adrenaline rush, XO Manowar is here. Read Full Review
