Zojaqan #1 is an impressive first issue, emotionally arresting through its artwork and dialogue. There's no real explanation of Shannon's plight here, but ultimately it's not needed; this is an exploration of grief and circumstance against a beautiful and surreal science fiction backdrop, driven primarily by Shannon's journey rather the specifics of what has made her unstuck from time or where and when Zojaqan exists in the universe. Vault Comics has an all-star team on hand with Zojaqan #1, and this week's debut issue is absolutely worth checking out. Read Full Review

Comic Crusaders - Bryan Spaulding Jul 20, 2017

This is a fantasy story that found a way to tug on my heartstrings while never removing me from the lush colorful world that has been created. Human instinct, the never-ending fight to survive, freedom to work through agonizing grief, and a willingness to explore this curious new world. This is a fantasy book, but it has deep roots in our human condition. Read Full Review

    Spartantown - Enrique Rea Jul 27, 2017

'Zojaqan' #1 is beautiful exploration of the human spirit transcending reality to give birth to a new world. This is science fiction and fantasy as poetry and Shannon Kind as the muse. She's transported to this primitive planet without explanation but is able to turn pain into power, apathy into action, and grief into grit. She is a champion that Kelly, Lanzing, Gooden and Astone bring to vivid life in one of most ethereal adventures in comics. If you're looking for something more nuanced and can appreciate a symphony of wonder and emotion than this is for you. Read Full Review
