Joe, Jack, Smoot and Zyxy plunge from the heights of Inventoria to the ruined Forest City of Yalway. But why is the shattered statue of the long-lost Iron Knight so familiar to Joe? How can the prophecy of the Dying Boy bring this once powerful kingdom back to its former glory? And what unknown, terrible creature from the Outer Darkness has King Death sent forth to do his terrible bidding? Is this the end for one of the companions?

Morrison again allows Murphy to completely own the issue. Even with all of the emotions that are running through the ending of the comic book, it is the art that leaves the biggest impression. This issue has multiple instances of panels that scroll across two pages in a letterboxed format that enhances the cinematic and epic feel to the story. Additionally, the creativity in the air battle and the ruined kingdom shows a level of detail that is impressive even after five issues of the story. I was, again, thrilled with this visual story. I suppose you could go wrong with Grant Morrison and Sean Murphy (and Dave Stewart on colors!) but I can't really imagine how. Not when it's high adventure and emotional drama. Not when it's a story told like this. Read Full Review
