The Authority has been traveling from reality to reality trying to find their way home. They've been attacked by rapacious space parasites and alternate versions of themselves and even had to sacrifice an entire world to survive. But they've never encountered something as strange as the Midnighter as a used car salesman. JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL co-writer J.M. DeMatteis joins Grant Morrison and Keith Giffen to create the oddest Authority tale yet!

Authority: The Last Year has become a bit of an odd beast, meandering through some very different types of stories over the past nine issues and featuring a constantly rotating team of artists that has made it very difficult for the book to establish a strong identity for itself. However, I'm actually starting to quite enjoy the fact that I don't know what to expect from the title next, and if it can keep throwing out unexpectedly enjoyable stories like this that subtly challenge the expectations of Authority readers without ever losing sight of what makes the book's core characters enjoyable to read about, I'll keep buying it. Does this issue redeem my feelings towards this series? Not really. But Im glad to read an issue and not regret that I did. Weve got 3 issues left so well see if the team will end up anywhere else thats interesting before all is said and done. Read Full Review
