TBH it goes back to the creepy GL runs in the late 60s and 80s, putting aside Johns' "Lantern Army" style writing, which was fun for a while but got overdone. Loving this series.

A perfect example of how to write superhero comics.
Trade Summary:
A very different Green Lantern book then we've ever had before but it works. Morrison applies his usual tricks and creates a compelling story in episodic format before tying it up for his mid-season finale. Liam Sharp's art is also amazing.
You can tell Morrison is a writer on this from the style and some of the more off the wall content (in a good way). Overall, enjoyable and I’m moderately excited for the next collected edition.
