Conceptually, the modern form has exceptional story-telling value worth more attention than its collectability. Many stories are enhanced, synergized, and only possible through the medium of graphic story-telling. Likewise, establishments like the Eisner, Harvey, and Ringo awards offer a credibility to the medium that should offset the common greeting I used to receive from my grandfather, “Are you still reading those funnybooks?” The answer was always “Yes.
