This is Star Wars as you remember it . . . and as you have never seen it before! We're taking you back to those heady, adventure-filled days following the destruction of the Death Star-when the Empire ruled, the Rebels were on the run, and the galaxy was a dangerous place where anything might happen!

The all-new Valiant Universe kicks off with a landmark, oversized # 1 issue of X-O Manowar by New York Times-bestselling author Robert Venditti (The Surrogates, The Homeland Directive) and Eisner Award-winning artist Cary Nord (Conan)! Born into battle, Aric of Dacia — heir to the throne of the Visigoth people — has never known peace. After a b...
The world here is really intriguing. The characters seemed a little flat, but the dialogue was still very fluid. It may be nice to see these characters develop as Wheadon characters do. The art was great... A cross between maleev, Scalera and the new guy on Ten Grand (C.P. Smith). If you're into steampunk crime noir and superhero teams (as i do?) then pick it up.
I'll probably be picking up more
Welcome to the "Chicago Organized Workers League"-the world's first Super-Hero Labor Union! While C.O.W.L. once stood as a beacon of hope against an epidemic of organized crime and an unbeatable "brotherhood" of Super-Villains, the union now faces its fiercest foe yet-a disillusioned public. In targeting the last of the great villains, C.O.W.L. att...
I think this story is fantastic. The "League of Assassins" storyline is really intriguing and I hope it continues to hold a place in this book. If it doesn't, then I think a LoA book featuring bullseye, taskmaster, sabertooth and scalp hunter would be insanely good. I recommend picking up #1 and 2 and checking it out.
• Elektra braves the dangers of Monster Island and a rival assassin in her search for the elusive assassin known as Cape Crow!
• The psychotic killer Bloody Lips closes in on Marvel's deadliest femme fatale!
• Haden Blackman and Mike Del Mundo bring you a hauntingly beautiful tale about honor and re...
This continues its excellence. This issue introduces the main antagonist and his cruelty and we see Duke do something more than talk. In fact, we see him as the hero we've only heard about up to this point. I can't wait for more!
Duke and his young companion begin their first adventure together! To the people of Tantalus, Duke is a hero and savior. Now, he's their last chance to vanquish the new menace that has invaded the peace-loving world he left behind. But four decades have passed: Duke's not the young man he once was, and the enemy he faces is more powerful than anyth...
Great! There was a ton of story here in an over-sized 40 page format, and every moment was fantastic. The art is Mignola-esque, with heavy black shadow, but is slightly more cartoony. I'm interested in seeing issue 2 and how Bendis handles the shorter 20-22 page format and I'm curious to see what direction this book is heading. However, this issue is highly recommended.
DOUBLE-SIZED FOR REGULAR PRICE!
From the creators of the Eisner Award-winning, best-selling POWERS comes a brand-new world of crime fiction like you've never seen before. In this oversized first issue, you will discover a world in which the families of organized crime never lost their stranglehold on the United States. Today is the day that Val...
Still a great, fun, book.
End of the first arc, by Greg Pak (Batman/Superman, Action Comics) and Mirko Colak (Conan)! I LOVE IT! Want more!
WHY WE LOVE IT: As fans of James Tynion IV's work in the Batman universe (BATMAN ETERNAL, RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS), we were eager to publish his first original comic series. Plus, THE WOODS gives us that same eerie, small-town horror feel we get whenever we read a Stephen King novel.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT: If you're fan of teen conspiracy co...
This continues to be a fun ride. So far, every issue has been self contained, so it is taking a permanent place in my pull, to combat the ever popular tie-ins and cliffhangers. Love the art and coloring
• In this issue: Moon Knight punches ghosts.
• Who is the NEVER QUEEN? How is the entire future of the Marvel Universe tied into her very existence? And why is she trying to DESTROY the Silver Surfer?!
• Are these questions important? Sure. But you know what's just as important? Lunch. Because what Earth girl Dawn Greenwood has for lunch today could change the fate of EVERYTHING!<...

Being a typically-rocky-start, this #1 wasn't THAT disappointing. I enjoyed the art and the writing did a fine job at introducing the characters and their relationships. Give it a chance.
"This all started with an accident..."AN ALL-NEW CORNER OF THE GOLD KEY UNIVERSE! Flooded with experimental radiation that grants him unbelievable powers, the brilliant-and-obsessive Dr. Phil Seleski seeks to unlock the secrets of the universe, begrudgingly becoming a "hero" along the way. But can a single man be trusted with near-limitless abiliti...
This was a whole lot better than #1. The story was more substantial, and the introduction to Mr. Hyde [[got my engine revving? ugh]] was fun. Tradd Moore continues to knock it out of the park, but I may wait for this to be on Marvel Unlimited.
"ENGINES OF VENGEANCE" PART 2
• ROBBIE REYES has been given a new awesome power but can the teen handle it or will it drive him to a path of destruction?
• Who owns the HAUNTED RACE CAR and what will they do to get it back?
• What are the PINK PILLS and who is behind their creation?
I haven't been reading any of the X books, so a lot of these references are lost on me. I'm still not sure what the point was… marriage? speaking english? Or was it supposed to be a fun book for all the x-fans out there?
Living in the margins of the X-Men, Doop has freaked out X-Men and readers alike. However, when he gets deeply involved in X-Men business (and in the personal life of Kitty Pryde!), Doop will be thrust into the spotlight. This adventure will prove that Doop is, in fact, the most powerful X-Man! Written by co-creator Peter Milligan (X-FORCE), covers...

Can the cocksure Man From Earth funnel his overconfidence into saving worlds, or will the universe fall to Ming? Don'...
This continues to impress. After the first issue, I wasn't sure that the return to Tantalus was a good idea since the concept of him on Earth was great, but this did not disappoint. It has taken a permanent spot on my pull list.
Duke McQueen once saved an alien world from destruction - but it happened in a place nobody believes in, during a time nobody remembers. Surrounded by memories of his late wife and his happier past, Duke's days as a hero are long gone...or so he thinks! Now, a young visitor from the world Duke once saved is coming to him with a desperate plea for h...
Ok... This wasn't a BAD issue... just short. The story was there, the art was there, but the page count was NOT. I love the effect of the dissappearing panels, and think that concept alone makes the issue deserving of a purcahse, but it takes up literally half of the issue. For something that really has no impact besides adding dramatic effect, it seems like a cop-out. The second half was great, more
The best new comic of 2014 continues with a story that has to be experienced to be believed!
I think I've read this story before. Doesn't seem new, including the characters since they're more or less based on real people.
They are the six most famous actors in the world and together they play The Olympians, the biggest superhero movie franchise in history. Would you ask them to save the world? They may be our only hope...
Ok so, yes... This was better than #1. It was better because at this point, you know that it's not taking itself seriously (when it comes to Merfolk) like snyder's Wake. The aggressive-guard-character says "god damn" multiple times after I thought that it may have been a slip. The art was solid, and even made me LOL. Not sure if I'll continue with issues, but would consider a trade paperback.
A Sea Locust: thirty feet of armored spines, claws that strike at the speed of sound. And it's exploding Ukinnu Alal's team by the second. They're talking mutiny on the Deliverer, and Bau Zikia's the only one standing between them and Uruku's sword.
FANTASTIC! I haven't looked at any other review, but for me, this was amazing. It blended the old school and the new school, both in writing and art. I knew this was a 10 in the middle at "the impericon" reveal spread, which was so ridiculously sci-fi, that it brought a smile to my face. Can't wait for more.
"NEW DAWN"
The universe is big. Bigger than you could ever imagine. And the SILVER SURFER, the lone sentinel of the skyways, is about to discover that the best way to see it... is with someone else.
Meet the Earth Girl who's challenged the Surfer to go beyond the boundaries of the known Marvel U-- into the strange, the new, and the utterly ...
We all know the ghost rider and his/her trouble maintaining an audience. We WANT to like it, but for some reason it doesn't click. The dialogue here is super condensed to the point that I didn't care about the character. That being said, the art was fantastic! Pick it up if only for that.
"ENGINES OF VENGEANCE" PART 1
A street race leads a young man on the FAST and FURIOUS road of destiny. Amid an East Los Angeles neighborhood running wild with gang violence and drug trafficking, a war brews in the criminal underworld! With four on the floor, Marvel's newest GHOST RIDER puts vengeance in overdrive!!!
Marc Spector is Moon Knight!...Or is he? It's hard to tell these days, especially when New York's wildest vigilante protects the street with two-fisted justice and three-that's right, count 'em-different personalities! But even with the mystical force of Khonshu fueling his crusade, how does the night's greatest detective save a city that's as twis...
FANTASTIC. This is a story that can only be told in comic book medium. Millard pulled me in immediately, first with excitement, then with sympathy. Parlov does a genius job of expression and emotion. Each character has their own demeanor and thought process and each panel shows that.
Svorcina, The colorist, does a great job traversing between times, and has captured the concept of stereotypi more
Forty years ago, Duke McQueen was the space hero who saved the universe. But then he came back home, got married, had kids, and grew old. Now his children have left and his wife has passed away, leaving him alone with nothing except his memories...until a call comes from a distant world asking him back for his final and greatest adventure. The big 2 historically have good story lines, good character development and editorial teams that make sure nothing steps out of ordinary. Vertigo has taken the stops out of the process and has given us books like Bloodshot. With physiology akin to wolverine (injected with extremis) and ideology akin to punisher, bloodshot provides us with Big 2 caliber stories without the requirement of innocencemore
Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps fight for more than they bargained for! When a routine rescue mission goes horribly wrong, Director Kozol is taken captive by a group of grizzled psiot mercenaries with a vital key to Bloodshot's past. The team fight to save Kozol's life... and they don't even like him! Duck and cover - because you've just dropped into...
This was fun! While it will probably remain a one-shot, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The Turtles are doing their best to avoid trouble in Northampton. Unfortunately, trouble finds them in the form of the Lone Gunmen! The fate of the world depends on the Gunmen getting the reclusive Turtles' help. Add in an undead menace and things are going to get downright dangerous!
My relationship with this issue is conflicted on all levels. At times, the writing seemed pretentious, yet captivating. At times, the artwork seemed confusing, but at other times, very clear. I'm not sure what this book needs, but I'm pretty sure it's a change of some sort. If the writing is going to continue along the pretentious Hickman style, then the artwork needs to be very clean, clear, delimore
Atlantis is the world superpower, and Redum Anshargal is its worst enemy. If you want to break free of the system, he can offer you a place at his side, exploring the wild surface world in his watertight city barge The Deliverer. He and his hostage-protege Ukinnu Alal hunt the Amphibian, a legend that could be the key to an air-breathing life on la...
**SPOILER ALERT**
The only reason I'm not giving this a flat out 10 is... Daredevil NEEDS to be in Hell's Kitchen... I get that NYC are PACKED with heroes, but there are a ridiculous amount of other heroes who could change coasts easily. NOT HIM.
Is my fandom skewing my viewpoint? Probably... so ranting aside, we all know Waid can write and knows what's best for Matt, so I j more
I have to admit... I knew nothing about Turok before picking this book up, and that may have worked to its advantage. I was sympathetic towards the character and his Bruce-Wayne-ish-back-story and the artwork didn't disappoint. All of this happened when BAM... the "crusading" dinosaurs pop up and trounce what little "witch boy" had. Dynamite may be onto something here... Definitely recommended.
