47 Ronin is quite good. It is engaging and effectively tells the legend of the 47 ronin in a manner that is not too complex. Rather the story is extremely straightforward which may make some readers not like it much. A lot of classic Japanese stuff of legend is seen here. Again the simplicity of the story told is a good thing as well as a bad thing. The characters seem somewhat static, but this also implies that their character can easily get through to the readers. The art seems to suit the story. This again may be a bit simplistic for some. I wouldn't call it bad nor noteworthy. Overall it's worth a read, especially if the reader is into Japanese or other legends of yore.

The Multiversity is a brilliant work. It is quite possibly the best event of this decade. With weird, over the top, mind-boggling ideas, Morrison has managed to craft a story that'll keep you scratching your head but still marvel (that was intentional) at this fine piece of art. Never has the multiverse been explored so well. That's probably the strongest point about the entire set of issues. The stories told in each one-shot explore different angles of superheroes and give something very fresh to enjoy. We have something like pulp fiction in S.O.S., a bright, classic world with Thunderworld, a bleak dystopia (or is it?) with Mastermen. And the one-shot that really stands out for me is Ultra, because it uses some of the craziest storytelling techniques and pulls of a brilliant story with such style. It is very metatextual, which is a brilliant thing. It does get crazy at times. You don't know exactly what is happening and so you move ahead trying to find out what exactly is happening. And the story is over, but the ideas still live on in your head. It is not as dense as I found Final Crisis which oddly enough I feel was a smaller story. It is, in some ways, a spiritual sequel to Final Crisis. You have the crazy monster thingy (or wait, there's something else) trying to take over the multiverse, lots of characters, crazy stuff here and there. But the concepts used take it much higher. [SPOILER ALERT] It references comics and not just any comics, but the ones being read right now. The breaking of the fourth wall adds more to the already amazing story. It is not the overarching story that is the greatest thing about the Multiversity, but the exploration of superheroes, comics and stories in general that makes it such a fine read. Also the art on all the issues is very well done. The art really suited the stories they were telling. Overall, this is a story you'll reread if you read it once. A rare masterpiece.
